I started teaching after years of working in the financial services industry as a way to give back to students who are working to achieve their goals and dreams.

What's the best advice that you have ever received?

Go back to school and get your degree.

What's your best advice for someone who is returning to finish an undergraduate degree?

I was 32 years old when I enrolled in school for the second time. It is never too late to achieve your dreams.

What qualities make someone particularly successful in accounting?

One quality that stands out the most is ethics and the role it plays in accounting.

What do you think is the biggest challenge that accountants face today?

Accountants face changes in regulatory guidance that requires continual learning.

How do you see online learning affecting the future of education?

I believe that it opens up opportunities for those who may not have been able to complete a degree in the past.

What can earning a bachelor's degree do for a working adult?

I would say from personal experience that it might allow you to go from working as a teller at a credit union to a CEO of a financial institution.

What is the one book you think everyone should read?

"The Happiness Advantage" by Shawn Anchor.
